Support — Keyring

Keyring is Aumatex’s password manager for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch: passwords, passkeys, 2FA codes, cards and notes inside an encrypted vault. There is no account and no server of ours — your data stays on your device and in your iCloud, and we cannot read it.

Turning on AutoFill

iPhone and iPad: Settings › General › AutoFill & Passwords, then turn on Keyring.
Mac: System Settings › General › AutoFill & Passwords, then turn on Keyring.
The app opens that screen for you: the last step of the initial setup offers “Turn On AutoFill”, and the same row stays in Settings › Security › AutoFill.
From then on Keyring fills passwords, passkeys and verification codes in Safari and in every app: tap the key icon above the keyboard, or the row the login field suggests on its own.

I forgot my master password

The master password cannot be recovered. We never store it — there is no server of ours and no account of yours with us — and nobody at Aumatex can reset it or open your vault for you. That is the same property that keeps your data unreadable to everyone else.
If a device still opens the vault with Face ID or Touch ID, open it now and put it somewhere safe: Settings › Data › Export Encrypted Archive…, protected by a new password you choose right there.
If you had turned on the iCloud Drive backup, that .keyring file opens with your Secret Key rather than with the master password: the Secret Key is in your Emergency Kit, and Settings › Data lets you open the archive and import the items into a new vault.
The Emergency Kit (Settings › Security › Emergency Kit) is what makes all of this possible: save it to Files or print it, and keep it off the device.
Without the master password, without a device that still opens the vault and without the Emergency Kit, the data stays encrypted forever — that is the price of a vault nobody else can open.

Importing from another app

Recognized sources: Apple Passwords, NordPass, SafeInCloud (XML) and any CSV, with column mapping when the header is not recognized.
2FA codes come over from Google Authenticator: scan its “Transfer accounts” QR codes and they are imported all at once.
Import during the initial setup, into the vault you have just created, or at any time from Settings › Data.
A file exported by another manager is plain text: delete it after the import, and empty the trash too.

Syncing across devices

Syncing goes through your own iCloud: data reaches CloudKit already encrypted, without touching any system of ours. It needs the same Apple Account on every device, with iCloud on.
On a new device: Settings › Vaults › Add from iCloud, then the vault’s master password. If the Secret Key does not arrive from your iCloud Keychain, type it from the Emergency Kit.
If one device lags behind, Settings › iCloud shows the sync status and has “Sync Now”; check that device’s network and iCloud too.
On the free plan one vault syncs across two devices: from the third on it opens read-only until you remove a device from the list in Settings › iCloud.

Keyring Plus

Plus lifts the free limits (100 items, one vault, two devices) and adds the check for passwords found in known breaches, the Apple Watch app and Quick Access from the Mac menu bar.
It comes as a yearly subscription with a free trial or as a one-time purchase; both are included in Family Sharing.
The subscription is managed and cancelled in the App Store, not in the app: on iPhone and iPad Settings › your name › Subscriptions, on Mac App Store › your account. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for.
New device or reinstalled app: Settings › Keyring Plus › Restore Purchases.
If Plus ends you lose nothing: your items stay readable, editable and exportable — only adding items beyond the free limit is blocked.
