Support — Moneys

Moneys is Aumatex’s personal finance app for iPhone and iPad: accounts, transactions, categories, budgets and net worth, across currencies. Your data stays on your device and in your own iCloud — there is no Moneys account, and we never see it.

Syncing and backups

Syncing uses the private database of your own iCloud: it needs the same Apple Account on every device, with iCloud on. Nothing passes through servers of ours.
A backup is not the same thing as syncing: in Settings › Data, “Create Backup” writes a complete file and “Restore Backup” reads it back.
When restoring you choose: “Merge” keeps your current data and updates what the backup contains, “Replace” erases the current data first — on this device and, with syncing on, on the others too. Either way the app first saves a full copy of what you have now to iCloud.
If you see “iCloud Drive is not available”, check that you are signed in to iCloud and that iCloud Drive is enabled on that device.

Importing and exporting transactions

Settings › Data holds “Export CSV” and “Import CSV”.
Before importing, the app shows a summary — how many entries will be added and how many updated — and asks you to confirm.
An exported CSV is plain text and holds your transactions: delete it once you are done, and empty the trash.

Currencies and exchange rates

Each account has its own currency, chosen when you create it: it cannot be changed afterwards, because that would change the meaning of every transaction already recorded. For another currency, create another account.
Rates come from a public dataset (currency-api, served through jsDelivr) and refresh while the app is online; offline, the last saved rates stay in use.
Net worth and totals are converted into the base currency you picked.

Moneys Plus

The free plan covers 4 accounts (one of them in a currency other than your base), 10 top-level categories and 3 subcategories per category.
Plus lifts those limits and adds monthly budgets and advanced analytics: breakdown by category and account, net-worth trends, income versus spending.
The limits only apply when you create something new: if Plus ends, everything you already have stays put, editable and exportable.
The subscription is managed and cancelled in the App Store (Settings › your name › Subscriptions). On a new device use “Restore Purchases”.
